Sometimes we look at sights in nature but don't really see. While hiking in the woods the other day, it became a realization that we need to open our heart and eyes to see the beauty of the simple things in nature with each season. There is so much order and purpose in His creation. God has given us awesome beauty in this world to see and enjoy... if we would but stop to see and feel it. Join us as this blog is about stopping to see the real beauty around us...to touch and feel it... "Through the Lens".

An Afternoon at the Beach and a Hint of Fall in the Air

                                 DSC_3964

We had a chip in our windshield, so we had a company come out  and do their magic.  When they left, the chip was gone.  DSC_3927

There’s not been a lot going on so we haven’t blogged for a while, but we had a special day at Callaway Gardens today.

This afternoon Gerri & I went to the Beach at Callaway Gardens. No, it’s not an ocean, it’s the world's largest manmade, white sand beach and it covers a mile around the 65 acre Robin Lake. The lake is closed to swimming now, so we had the beach and the area to ourselves. Almost like it was our own private resort. We sat under our private canopy on the beach... even our own bench.

Wow, what pampering. There was a great breeze and we sensed a bit of fall in the air. Afterwards we walked through our private vegetable garden, although we let four or five other people come through the garden too. This is such a beautiful and peaceful resort. It has several thousand acres of nature, hiking and biking trails, and lakes for fishing, Sibley Horticulture Center, a Chapel on the lake, 2 beautiful golf courses and so much more in a natural setting.

If you are ever in this part of the country and you love nature, you would greatly enjoy a day or two at Callaway Gardens.

  7. I don't know where Callaway Gardens is but it looks like a nice spot. That is my favorite kind of beach....deserted. Especially like your butterfly pics. Nice color, nice detail.

  17. Great shots and nice to see your posts again---

We just had 2 chips fixed on our motorhome while on vacation. Sure beats waiting a couple weeks till they could locate 2 new windshield pieces. AND our insurance pays the entire cost of the chip repair instead of a deductible needed for full windshield replacement.
