Sometimes we look at sights in nature but don't really see. While hiking in the woods the other day, it became a realization that we need to open our heart and eyes to see the beauty of the simple things in nature with each season. There is so much order and purpose in His creation. God has given us awesome beauty in this world to see and enjoy... if we would but stop to see and feel it. Join us as this blog is about stopping to see the real beauty around us...to touch and feel it... "Through the Lens".

Open Pond

We left Chewacla Tuesday morning about 10:00 and headed for Conecuh National Forest and the Open Pond Campground there.
We learned about this place from our very good friends, John and Ellie Souva.   They certainly did not lead us wrong.  It is absolutely beautiful.

We arrived about 2:00 and immediately found a nice spot that backs up to the pond.  It was sunny and about 77 degrees peaceful and quiet.
After getting set up we mostly just hung around the campsite.

Our sight the afternoon we arrived

This is our view across the pond from our patio

I got up early this morning to capture the early fog on the pond

We did have a visitor.  We had hardly backed in when a fellow camper drove up and started asking questions about the Oliver.  He already knew a little about this trailer but was anxious to know more.  Like a lot of people he had never seen one in person.  So we gave him a tour and answered the questions that he had.  Joe, is from Michigan and has escaped the cold and  snow there for the past three years, since his wife passed away.
A very nice gentleman....but then aren't most RVers??

The time we are here we plan to hike and explore more of the area.  Mike will continue to learn more about his camera so be ready for more pictures as we explore Open Pond, "Through the Lens."

  4. What a beautiful campsite...so peaceful. The picture of the morning fog is spectacular. Looking forward to looking through your lens as you get even more proficient with you camera, if that's even possible.

  5. What a great campground find...I need to mark that one....You appear to be having more fun than is "legal: :)) I also think the morning fog photo is top self...that one needs to be framed and become part of the Oliver décor... Safe travels Horst
